Distinctly Not On The Pro Tour
How to break Firemind’s foresight? Obviously, the card has potential, but what can we do with it?
How about blow up everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) in an EDH game?
Here’s how:
1. We’ll be referring to the number of cards in your hand throughout this exercise, starting with N cards, not including foresight. Cast Firemind’s Foresight at the last end step before your turn, getting Firestorm, Increasing Vengeance, and Meditate. Those added cards mean you now have N+3 cards in hand.

2. Untap and draw your card. You should now have N+4 cards in hand. when the opportune moment arises, cast meditation. you should now have N+7 cards in hand.
3. Cast firestorm, discarding all your cards to pay the cost, setting you up to deal N+6 damage to N+6 targets.
4. flashback Increasing Vengeance, copying the firestorm twice. Rule 706.10 states that “A copy of a spell or ability copies both the characteristics of the spell or ability and all decisions made for it, including modes, targets, the value of X, and additional or alternative costs.”, so firestorm will have the same number of targets and deal the same amount of damage even though you discard no more cards.
Howe much damage is this? If your hand was empty other than Firemind’s Foresight when you cast it, you can deal 18 increments of 6 damage, and up to 18 damage to any one target. The numbers only get sillier from there; if you have an extra card in hand, you’ll be dealing up to 21; if you have a full grip of seven when casting Foresight, you’ll deal 39 damage to anything unfortunate enough to feel the hot winds of your wrath.
